Megan (Meg) Keely Smith is a singer-songwriter who considers many places home (currently, Somerville, MA). She took classical vocal lessons as a pre-teen and sang in a cappella groups through high school and college. While living in Washington, DC, she collaborated with several local artists, singing at showcases, concerts, and other events, including Petworth and Adams Morgan Porchfests. Once she moved to the Boston-area for a master’s program, she immediately became one of the lead singers of her school’s over 20-year-old cover band, the Fletcheros. Meg explores and shares her experiences through songwriting, having written songs since first grade; despite her elementary school bully telling her she sounded like a "dying duck," she continued writing and singing away alongside her other academic and professional pursuits. Meg holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and in French from the University of Southern California, and recently completed a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School at Tufts University, with fields of study in gender & intersectional analysis and human security & humanitarian affairs.
